My name is David Binns. I began working out three years ago and while I was able to lose weight, I still lacked tone. I began lifting but only showed very small results after a year. Since I have started training with Armen, I have gained about 8 lbs of muscle in a short 3 months. I have more energy, better stamina, and my workout regimen has improved as well to be more rounded. These are things that I tried to do myself by reading books on the subject but that I am now convinced only comes with years experience and an extended education in training. These are both things that Armen possesses and has used to guide me to very favorable results. Using his advice I have improved my diet, and focused on foods that help burn fat and build muscle. My workouts have reached new levels with him pushing me to attain the best results. Armen has also helped me to create a workout schedule for the whole week, not just at personal training. I would recommend personal training to anyone who wants fast results that last.

Can weight loss be fast and safe at the same time?

We want things now. If packages take more than two days to arrive, we get frustrated. If we can’t find our favorite TV shows any time, day or night, we cancel our TV subscription. And if diets take a long time, we move along.

That’s why we fall so easily for fad diets. They drastically cut calories or carbs and provide quick weight loss. When a few people find success, word spreads. Then a million people have bought in.

Unfortunately, fad diets are full of problems. They’re not sustainable, so weight loss is likely temporary. And that fast weight loss is risky for your health.
So is it possible to lose weight quickly and permanently without risking your health? Maybe. To lose weight as fast as possible and protect your health, address these three areas of your life.

Area 1: Diet

Successful weight loss is the result of diet changes. Not crazy changes, but changes that can be sustained for the long term. Whether you make those changes fast or gradually over time depends on how fast you want to lose weight.

Your ultimate goal is to eat healthily. What does this look like? No more junk or empty calories. Make every bite count. Do not cut out entire food groups, but rather eat nutrient-dense foods as often as possible.
While you’re at it, keep added sugar out of the house. That way, it doesn’t tempt you. This may mean saying goodbye to soda, sweetened coffee, or sweets. It may hurt, but remember your goal!

Be picky about your carbs. Eat foods that are low on the glycemic index. These foods release glucose slowly so your blood sugar stays at a more even level. When eating carbs, go with whole grains rather than foods made with refined, white flour.

Foods high in fiber, lean protein, and healthy fats are a dieter’s best friend. They fill you up and provide lasting energy. This combo helps you feel full faster, so you eat less.

In order to cut back on calories, reduce your portion sizes. Food left on your plate does not have to be eaten. Save leftovers for tomorrow.

Area 2: Exercise

The second area to consider is exercise. Working out helps you create the calorie deficit necessary to shed pounds. Want to lose weight faster? Lengthen your workouts or increase the intensity. Just protect yourself from overtraining, which can lead to injury or burnout.

You may wonder what the best workout is for weight loss. The answer: whatever exercise you’ll do. If walking is easy and enjoyable, then walk. If lifting weights makes you look forward to your workout, then lift weights. If yoga helps you relax and stay mindful, then practice yoga.

Of course, different exercises burn different amounts of calories. So if high calorie burn is your goal, focus your time on high-intensity interval training, rowing, running, cycling, or swimming.

Area 3: Lifestyle

Fast, safe, successful weight loss requires big life changes. You may need to surround yourself with new friends who support you and keep you accountable. If you’re used to eating out every day, start grocery shopping for fresh ingredients and making homemade meals.

Successful weight loss may mean changing your relationship with food. Take a close look at how food affects your emotions or at how your emotions influence your eating habits. For many, food provides more than just energy and sustenance. Overeating can be triggered by negative or positive emotions. Be aware of your triggers and adopt healthier ways of dealing with your emotions.
