Finish Fit boot camp has demonstrated to me that I am VERY capable of pushing my body to its limits. Prior to starting the class I was nervous because it had been a really long time since I had been physically active. With Finish Fit I am now 5 pounds away from my pre-baby weight, something I had been trying to lose for two years! Thanks Lauren, Brett and Armen for helping me lose 10 pounds in four weeks!

David Binns
My name is David Binns. I began working out three years ago and while I was able to lose weight, I still lacked tone. I began lifting but only showed very small results after a year. Since I have started training with Armen, I have gained about 8 lbs of muscle in a short 3 months. I have more energy, better stamina, and my workout regimen has improved as well to be more rounded. These are things that I tried to do myself by reading books on the subject but that I am now convinced only comes with years experience and an extended education in training. These are both things that Armen possesses and has used to guide me to very favorable results. Using his advice I have improved my diet, and focused on foods that help burn fat and build muscle. My workouts have reached new levels with him pushing me to attain the best results. Armen has also helped me to create a workout schedule for the whole week, not just at personal training. I would recommend personal training to anyone who wants fast results that last.

A Breath of Fresh Air

Checking the health of the air inside your home.

How much time do you spend thinking about air quality. Not much? You’re not the only one. But with every breath you take, you’re not only filling your lungs with oxygen. You’re also getting a lungful of other substances that are present in the air. And while many of these are harmless or even good for your health, some may be harmful.

Whether you’re sleeping, working, or hanging out with family, you probably spend most of your time at home. So it makes sense to want the air there to be pure and healthy to inhale for the sake of youngest member of your family, the oldest, and everyone in-between.

Though you may think smog and other pollutants are only outside, the air inside your house may be more polluted than the air beyond your front door. That’s right! There may be things lurking in the air in your home that can harm your health. How can you make sure you’re breathing fresh air? Read on to find out.

Radon

Second only to cigarette smoke, radon is a top cause of lung cancer, resulting in thousands of cases each year. Unlike cigarette smoke, you can’t see, smell, or taste radon, but there’s a good chance this radioactive gas is present in your home. Found naturally in soil, the gas can seep into your home through cracks in the floor and foundation. Granite countertops even produce radon. Get your home tested for radon and take the steps necessary to reduce high levels.

Allergens

Dust mites in your carpet, bedding, and furniture; mold due to excessive moisture problems; pet dander; and pollen all decrease the air quality in your home. Residents with allergies or asthma especially suffer, but it’s not healthy for anyone to breath in mold spores. Fight these unwanted guests with vacuum and HVAC filters designed for eliminating allergens. To eliminate mold and dust mites, keep a dehumidifier running to keep your home’s humidity below 50 percent, fix leaky pipes, and run an exhaust fan while you shower. Leave a mat by your door to wipe your shoes or take your shoes off before coming in the house to help keep pollen outside.

Smoke

Want fresh air in your home? Then the last thing you want is for someone to smoke in your home. Containing more than 4,000 chemicals, cigarette smoke contributes to asthma, cancer, respiratory infections, heart attack, and stroke. Though not easy, you can quit smoking if you’re willing. Medications, nicotine-replacement therapy, and support groups are available to help.

Chemicals

The materials used to build your home and make your furniture are often made with harmful chemicals. Fire-retardants, laminates, polish, and glues may contain volatile organic compounds (VOCs), which emit toxic gases into your home. If you’re concerned about the possible chemicals circulating in your air, use an air purifier or decorate with live plants, which naturally filter the air.

Fragrances

Air fresheners, candles, cleaning products, laundry detergents, and fabric softeners may make your home and clothes smell good and fresh, but products made with synthetic fragrances emit chemicals into the air you breathe, and many are toxic or hazardous VOCs. Breathe easy in your home by using unscented or naturally scented products. Avoid using aerosol hair sprays, deodorants, or cleaning products. Set out live plants to naturally filter the air and open your windows every once in a while to let fresh air in and bad air out.
With these tips, you’ll be breathing better air today and every day of the future.
