Finish Fit boot camp has demonstrated to me that I am VERY capable of pushing my body to its limits. Prior to starting the class I was nervous because it had been a really long time since I had been physically active. With Finish Fit I am now 5 pounds away from my pre-baby weight, something I had been trying to lose for two years! Thanks Lauren, Brett and Armen for helping me lose 10 pounds in four weeks!

David Binns
My name is David Binns. I began working out three years ago and while I was able to lose weight, I still lacked tone. I began lifting but only showed very small results after a year. Since I have started training with Armen, I have gained about 8 lbs of muscle in a short 3 months. I have more energy, better stamina, and my workout regimen has improved as well to be more rounded. These are things that I tried to do myself by reading books on the subject but that I am now convinced only comes with years experience and an extended education in training. These are both things that Armen possesses and has used to guide me to very favorable results. Using his advice I have improved my diet, and focused on foods that help burn fat and build muscle. My workouts have reached new levels with him pushing me to attain the best results. Armen has also helped me to create a workout schedule for the whole week, not just at personal training. I would recommend personal training to anyone who wants fast results that last.

Breath of Fresh Air

Steps to purify the air in your home so you can breathe easy.

How fresh is the air in your home? If your home doesn’t smell as fresh as you’d like, you’re not alone. Plenty of people wish their homes smelled better.

Unpleasant odors can be caused by any number of reasons. You could have a mold problem in your basement. The people who lived in your home before you may have smoked inside. Perhaps you use harsh cleaning chemicals. Maybe you’re in the middle of some renovation projects. You may have new furniture. Or your home may suffer from poor air circulation.

Whatever the cause, air quality affects your health. Air pollution, both indoors and outdoors, is tied to cancer, heart disease, asthma, lung disease, emphysema, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, and bronchitis.

Surprisingly, indoor air is often much more polluted than the air outside. And once impurities are there, there is little chance for them to escape. Since you spend a lot of time in your home each day, you want the air there to be clean and free of contaminants.

If you’re looking for ways to safely improve the air quality in your home, keep reading.

Open the Windows

One of the simplest ways to get rid of unpleasant odors in your home is to open your windows. Trapped odors or chemicals will flow outside, and fresh air will come in. Putting a fan in the window will improve things even more. Unless it’s extremely hot or cold outside, opening your windows for five minutes a day is a good habit all year long.

Remedy Mold and Moisture

Sometimes, you can’t get rid of odors until you remedy the underlying problem. If your home consistently smells musty or mildewy, you likely have a moisture problem. And if you have a moisture problem, you may have mold in your home. This can be caused when the humidity in your home is too high, your bathroom vent is broken, or you have a water leak in your roof or pipes. Mold releases spores into the air that affect air quality and can harm your health. Repair water leaks, get rid of the mold, and run a dehumidifier.

Install an Air Purifier

While not cheap, air purifiers are a great way to remove odors, pollutants, and even viruses or bacteria from the air. Do your research and read reviews to find a purifier that’s reliable and effective. The price of an air purifier will depend on the size of the area it covers. They range in price from $100 to $1,000. Carefully read the specs to make sure you get your money’s worth.

Use Safe Scents

Many people try improving their home’s smell with scented candles or air fresheners. Unfortunately, many of these products are made with chemicals that could do more harm than good. If you’re looking for safer ways to make your home smell like apple pie or lavendar, skip the scented candles and air fresheners. Use an essential oil diffuser or beeswax candles instead.

Run the Heat or Air

You may find your home smells especially musty during the spring or fall. This often occurs when your heating and air unit isn’t running often. Central heat and air keep the air circulating in your home and can lower the humidity. As an added bonus, the air gets pulled through a filter that traps fine particles. To keep your AC unit in good working order and your air fresh, change the air filter on a regular basis.

Avoid Harsh Chemicals

The majority of household cleaners you use on a regular basis contain toxic chemicals that fill the air. You don’t have to use them any longer. Go green with your cleaning products. You can purchase green cleaning products or make your own. If you stick with harsh chemicals, open a window for ventilation while cleaning and for a little while afterward.
