Finish Fit boot camp has demonstrated to me that I am VERY capable of pushing my body to its limits. Prior to starting the class I was nervous because it had been a really long time since I had been physically active. With Finish Fit I am now 5 pounds away from my pre-baby weight, something I had been trying to lose for two years! Thanks Lauren, Brett and Armen for helping me lose 10 pounds in four weeks!

David Binns
My name is David Binns. I began working out three years ago and while I was able to lose weight, I still lacked tone. I began lifting but only showed very small results after a year. Since I have started training with Armen, I have gained about 8 lbs of muscle in a short 3 months. I have more energy, better stamina, and my workout regimen has improved as well to be more rounded. These are things that I tried to do myself by reading books on the subject but that I am now convinced only comes with years experience and an extended education in training. These are both things that Armen possesses and has used to guide me to very favorable results. Using his advice I have improved my diet, and focused on foods that help burn fat and build muscle. My workouts have reached new levels with him pushing me to attain the best results. Armen has also helped me to create a workout schedule for the whole week, not just at personal training. I would recommend personal training to anyone who wants fast results that last.

Eco-Friendly Workouts

Steps to reduce your carbon footprint when you exercise.

What steps are you taking to protect the environment? Hopefully you do the obvious. You recycle, reuse, and conserve water, electricity, and gas. But if you’re serious about it, going green can affect all areas of your life, including fitness. That’s right. There are things you can do to save the planet while you’re working on your physique.

As you think about your workouts, consider implementing these simple ways to lessen your impact on the environment. Future generations will thank you.

Say Goodbye to Plastic Water Bottles

Using a disposable plastic water bottle is one of the worst things you can do for the environment. In case you’ve not heard, there are gigantic islands developing in the ocean made of trash and plastic. Why? Because plastics take hundreds of years to decompose. Using a water bottle once or twice and then throwing it away is wasteful. Instead, switch to a reusable water bottle that’s made of stainless steel or glass. Some brands can keep water cold for hours, so your water is still refreshing deep into your workout. Wash after each use and reuse it for years to come.

Wear Eco-Friendly Attire

Going green can even affect the clothes and shoes you choose. Shop from vendors that use ethical and environmentally responsible methods of production. Look around and you can find workout clothes made from recycled water bottles, recycled fishing nets, organic cotton, or plant-based fabrics. Eco-friendly athletic shoes are also available. These are made from recycled rubber and plastics, cork, merino wool, eucalyptus, and organic materials. Other manufacturers claim their products are made using less energy, water, and emissions than traditional athletic wear. Support these businesses!

Reuse and Recycle Equipment

Instead of buying new workout equipment for each new fitness fad, consider buying used. While you should always buy new shoes, you’re safe to buy anything else lightly used. You’ll save money and the environment as well. You can find good deals on weight sets, weight benches, exercise machines, and other home gym essentials. This allows you to work out at home when you can’t see your trainer. And when you have old clothes or equipment to get rid of, donate them to a local resale shop instead of the trash.

Use Less Equipment

Want another simple way to reduce your impact on the environment? Incorporate workouts into your routine that use little to no equipment. Easy examples include walking, jogging, hiking, yoga, cycling, or bodyweight exercises.

Find an Eco-Friendly Gym

Those who are super serious about being eco-friendly may be able to find a gym that aligns with their values. More and more businesses are rallying behind green services and products, including gyms and fitness establishments. Granted, there aren’t many such gyms out there yet, but they’re gaining popularity.

If you happen to find one of them, be prepared to pay a premium for it. These gyms harness the energy produced by their bikes and machines to provide electricity. The buildings are made from recycled building materials. And the equipment is made from environmentally friendly materials.

Not able to find an eco-friendly gym? Don’t feel bad. Being part of your gym is good for the environment. Why? Because it prevents you from having to buy equipment for your own home. That means fewer resources are used and less unused home equipment winds up in the dump.
