Finish Fit boot camp has demonstrated to me that I am VERY capable of pushing my body to its limits. Prior to starting the class I was nervous because it had been a really long time since I had been physically active. With Finish Fit I am now 5 pounds away from my pre-baby weight, something I had been trying to lose for two years! Thanks Lauren, Brett and Armen for helping me lose 10 pounds in four weeks!

David Binns
My name is David Binns. I began working out three years ago and while I was able to lose weight, I still lacked tone. I began lifting but only showed very small results after a year. Since I have started training with Armen, I have gained about 8 lbs of muscle in a short 3 months. I have more energy, better stamina, and my workout regimen has improved as well to be more rounded. These are things that I tried to do myself by reading books on the subject but that I am now convinced only comes with years experience and an extended education in training. These are both things that Armen possesses and has used to guide me to very favorable results. Using his advice I have improved my diet, and focused on foods that help burn fat and build muscle. My workouts have reached new levels with him pushing me to attain the best results. Armen has also helped me to create a workout schedule for the whole week, not just at personal training. I would recommend personal training to anyone who wants fast results that last.

The coronavirus is spreading like wildfire and along with it, worldwide fear and panic.

Now named COVID-19, the new coronavirus that was first discovered in Wuhan City, China, has spread to countries around the world by people traveling out of Wuhan City. With tens of thousands infected in China, thousands dead, increasing numbers of cases outside of China, and the images portrayed in the media, it’s easy to be fearful you may be affected.

While scientists are still seeking answers, much is already known about this virus. Keep reading to get some of your questions answered so you can be better prepared to face the days ahead.

A Novel Virus

The COVID-19 virus is a novel virus, meaning it’s a new strain of virus not seen before in humans. Even though it’s been called the coronavirus, coronaviruses are actually a family of viruses that causes a range of different illnesses, from the common cold to severe acute respiratory syndrome (SARS-CoV) and Middle East respiratory syndrome (MERS-CoV).

Coronaviruses are zoonotic, meaning they originate from animals. While the exact origin of COVID-19 is unknown, it’s possible the virus spread from a seafood market.

If you’ve ever had the flu, the COVID-19 has similar symptoms. Mild cases cause a runny nose, sore throat, cough, maybe a headache, and possibly a fever, which only last a couple of days. Severe cases, however, can lead to pneumonia, shortness of breath, severe acute respiratory syndrome, potential kidney failure, and in some cases, death. The elderly and those with pre-existing medical conditions such as heart disease or diabetes are most at risk for severe infection.

The virus is spread from person to person through contact with a sick person’s respiratory droplets. If an infected person coughs or sneezes and droplets in the air end up in your mouth or nose, you’ll get sick. Or, you may become infected by touching contaminated saliva or nasal discharge and then touching your eyes, nose, or mouth. The virus may also spread through contact with an infected person’s feces.

COVID-19 doesn’t travel long distances in the air, but it may survive several hours on hard surfaces. The incubation period ranges from one day to two weeks. This means someone may be contagious for a long time without showing symptoms.

Infection Prevention

Unless you’ve recently traveled to China or other hotspots of the virus have been in close contact with someone who has, you should be safe from the virus. If you have travelled or been exposed to someone who has, and you come down with a respiratory illness, see your doctor.

Prevention measures are similar to those for avoiding the flu. Wash your hands frequently and avoid close contact with someone who’s sneezing, coughing, or has a fever. Sneeze and cough into your elbow, and quickly dispose of used facial tissues. Avoid touching your mouth, nose, or eyes. You may also want to wear a face mask for extra protection and use disinfectant cleaning spray to kill the virus. To prevent the spread of a coronavirus, thoroughly cook your meat and eggs.

Treatment for Symptoms

At this moment, there’s no cure for COVID-19. Since it’s a virus, antibiotics are ineffective. Medications and self-care can help relieve symptoms, but if you have a high fever, cough, and trouble breathing, seek medical care. A vaccination is currently unavailable and will take more than a year to develop.
