Finish Fit boot camp has demonstrated to me that I am VERY capable of pushing my body to its limits. Prior to starting the class I was nervous because it had been a really long time since I had been physically active. With Finish Fit I am now 5 pounds away from my pre-baby weight, something I had been trying to lose for two years! Thanks Lauren, Brett and Armen for helping me lose 10 pounds in four weeks!

David Binns
My name is David Binns. I began working out three years ago and while I was able to lose weight, I still lacked tone. I began lifting but only showed very small results after a year. Since I have started training with Armen, I have gained about 8 lbs of muscle in a short 3 months. I have more energy, better stamina, and my workout regimen has improved as well to be more rounded. These are things that I tried to do myself by reading books on the subject but that I am now convinced only comes with years experience and an extended education in training. These are both things that Armen possesses and has used to guide me to very favorable results. Using his advice I have improved my diet, and focused on foods that help burn fat and build muscle. My workouts have reached new levels with him pushing me to attain the best results. Armen has also helped me to create a workout schedule for the whole week, not just at personal training. I would recommend personal training to anyone who wants fast results that last.

Bad Habits, Be Gone!

What bad habits do you need to get rid of?

Everyone has a habit or two or twenty they need to change, and you’re no different. It could be a habit you’ve had since you were a child or something that’s developed in the past few years. No matter when a bad habit starts, it can be hard to break.

What makes a habit a bad habit? Simply put, it’s not good. It doesn’t benefit you in the short-term or long-term and it keeps you from reaching whatever lofty goals you have for yourself. Maybe it’s a lifestyle choice that harms your mental or physical health, something that hurts a relationship, or perhaps it’s something that wastes time, money, or energy.

While some people never take a hard look at their habits, you should if you want to live the best life possible. Take a few minutes to consider whether you have any of the following bad habits and then do something about it!

Sitting Around All Day

In today’s world, many people live a sedentary lifestyle. They sit on their commute, sit while at work, and sit on the couch all evening. Don’t let this be you! A lack of physical activity puts you at risk for obesity and a host of other health conditions. Move more throughout the day. Set a timer if you need a reminder to move, and wear a pedometer to track the number of steps you take. Make it your goal to take 10,000 steps a day or to spend no more than an hour sitting down at a time.

Going into Debt

Money problems are a primary source of stress and anxiety. If you don’t have money, don’t spend it! Otherwise, that debt will hang over you like a heavy weight. Instead, live within your means, even if that requires drastic lifestyle changes. Cut up your credit cards, stop eating out, and shop around for the best deals. Take steps today to create a budget, pay off debt, and gain control over your finances.

Having an Erratic Sleep Schedule

Every body system functions best on a schedule. When you go to bed and wake at different times each day, you throw off your circadian rhythm, making it hard to get quality sleep. Adjust your schedule to get a solid seven to nine hours of sleep each night. Hit snooze in the morning? You’re doing your body no favors.

Those few minutes of light sleep make it even harder to get out of bed.

Constantly Checking Your Phone

How often do you check your phone? Constantly checking for emails, texts, and social media updates is a sign you’re addicted to your cell phone. Besides, it’s rude to look at your phone while having a conversation with someone, while sitting at the dinner table with the family, or during a meeting. Social media has its benefits, but it’s also associated with higher levels of depression, loneliness, anxiety, and reduced social skills. You’ll be more productive when you only look at your phone and respond to messages once an hour.

Snacking All the Time

Just as your body functions best on a regular sleep schedule, your metabolism likes a regular meal schedule as well. When your body knows it can expect food, it can process it properly. Snacks can be part of a healthy diet, but snacking too much too often can lead to overeating and weight gain. Before digging into a snack, drink a glass of water and wait a few minutes. If you’re truly hungry, go with a healthy option, and consider keeping a food diary to reign in overeating habits.

Complaining

Complaining comes easily to many, but it does nothing to change the situation. Rather, it spreads negativity to those around you and puts you in a worse mood. Look for the good in everything and see opportunities instead of obstacles. What can you be thankful for? Change your complaints into thanksgiving. You’ll be a happier person and others will be more likely to enjoy being in your company.
