Finish Fit boot camp has demonstrated to me that I am VERY capable of pushing my body to its limits. Prior to starting the class I was nervous because it had been a really long time since I had been physically active. With Finish Fit I am now 5 pounds away from my pre-baby weight, something I had been trying to lose for two years! Thanks Lauren, Brett and Armen for helping me lose 10 pounds in four weeks!

David Binns
My name is David Binns. I began working out three years ago and while I was able to lose weight, I still lacked tone. I began lifting but only showed very small results after a year. Since I have started training with Armen, I have gained about 8 lbs of muscle in a short 3 months. I have more energy, better stamina, and my workout regimen has improved as well to be more rounded. These are things that I tried to do myself by reading books on the subject but that I am now convinced only comes with years experience and an extended education in training. These are both things that Armen possesses and has used to guide me to very favorable results. Using his advice I have improved my diet, and focused on foods that help burn fat and build muscle. My workouts have reached new levels with him pushing me to attain the best results. Armen has also helped me to create a workout schedule for the whole week, not just at personal training. I would recommend personal training to anyone who wants fast results that last.

Always Cold?

Seven possible reasons to explain why you just can’t warm up.

When everyone else is sweating, do you have the chill bumps? Do you sleep under piles of blankets while your spouse only needs a sheet? Are you the one that always turns the temperature up on the thermostat?

Maybe you hide a space heater at work or keep a sweater handy at all times. Some people seem to always be cold, regardless of the temperature and sometime regardless of how many layers they’re wearing.

Maybe you’re that person. While some people are just naturally cold all the time, there may be an underlying health condition to blame. Keep reading to see if any of these conditions sound like you and if you need to see the doctor.

The thyroid gland in your neck makes hormones that regulate your metabolism. When your thyroid fails to produce enough thyroid hormone or when your body doesn’t process the thyroid hormone efficiently, you may develop hypothyroidism. Being cold is one symptom of hypothyroidism. Other symptoms include fatigue, weight gain, dry skin, and thinning hair. If you experience these symptoms, make an appointment to have your thyroid levels tested. Treatment for hypothyroidism is typically a synthetic hormone medication.

Red blood cells carry oxygen to all parts of the body. A condition such as anemia leads to a decrease in the number of red blood cells and a common symptom is feeling cold. You may also feel fatigued; look pale; or have headaches, irregular heartbeats, and dizziness. A simple blood test can rule out anemia, and an iron supplement can help alleviate the problem.

Over time, diabetes damages your kidneys. One symptom of kidney damage is feeling cold all the time. Other symptoms include loss of appetite, confusion, nausea, vomiting, shortness of breath, swelling in your extremities, and itchiness. Any of these symptoms warrant a trip to the doctor.

Lack of Sleep

When you don’t get enough sleep, your body has to work harder to regulate its temperature during the day. This can cause more heat loss than normal and the shivers. Get more sleep at night and see if you feel warmer the next day.

Blood Vessel Conditions

Maybe it’s just your hands and feet that always feel cold or numb. Perhaps they even turn white or blue. If this is the case, you may have Raynaud’s disease, a condition that causes the arteries in your toes and fingers to spasm, temporarily constricting the blood vessels, and limiting the amount of blood flow. After about 15 minutes, the spasms stop, blood flow resumes, and warmth returns. Talk with your doctor if you suspect this condition.

Clotting disorders or peripheral vascular disease may also lead to restricted blood flow and cold arms and legs, clammy skin, or tingling and throbbing in your limbs, so you may want to be checked for this condition as well.

Some medications come with the side effect of low circulation in your hands and feet. A lack of blood flow makes them feel cold. Certain stimulants or blood pressure medications may have this effect. Talk with your doctor about alternative medications to ensure your pills don’t leave you cold.

Poor Nutrition

When your body lacks nutrition, it works to conserve all its energy. When this happens, you may feel cold. People with an eating disorder such as anorexia or bulimia are often cold because they’re not consuming enough calories. If more calories aren’t eaten, eating disorders can turn into a dangerous situation. Talk with your doctor or a mental health professional to get the treatment you need.
