My name is David Binns. I began working out three years ago and while I was able to lose weight, I still lacked tone. I began lifting but only showed very small results after a year. Since I have started training with Armen, I have gained about 8 lbs of muscle in a short 3 months. I have more energy, better stamina, and my workout regimen has improved as well to be more rounded. These are things that I tried to do myself by reading books on the subject but that I am now convinced only comes with years experience and an extended education in training. These are both things that Armen possesses and has used to guide me to very favorable results. Using his advice I have improved my diet, and focused on foods that help burn fat and build muscle. My workouts have reached new levels with him pushing me to attain the best results. Armen has also helped me to create a workout schedule for the whole week, not just at personal training. I would recommend personal training to anyone who wants fast results that last.

With so many people hurting these days, you have plenty of opportunities to show kindness to others. You may not realize it, but small acts of kindness are a great way to help others while relieving your own feelings of depression and anxiety. So how can you reach out to your neighbors during the pandemic? Here are a few ideas to get you started.

Pick Up the Phone

Social isolation is hard on people’s mental health. It leaves even the most independent person lonely, feeling a lack of purpose, and grieving what’s been lost. One of the easiest ways to show kindness during quarantine is to pick up your phone and call, text, or video chat with friends and family, just to check in.

Send a picture, short note, joke, funny meme, or motivational quote to show you care. Think particularly of your friends or family members who are at high risk for catching the virus and therefore haven’t left the house much. Remember grandparents who haven’t been able to see their grandkids, and reach out to those who are single and live alone. A simple phone call can do wonders to brighten someone’s day.

Wear a Mask

You hear a lot of conflicting news about wearing a mask. Your community may or may not take it seriously, but science has shown that when more people wear them, masks help reduce the spread of the virus. You may feel perfectly healthy, avoid being around anyone sick, or not worry about being infected, but wearing a mask is one way you can show kindness to others. While they don’t do much to protect you, masks can help you keep your germs to yourself so the vulnerable are kept safe.

Run Errands

The elderly and those with preexisting medical conditions are at a greater risk for serious complications from COVID-19 and may be fearful of leaving their house. One way to show kindness to these high-risk neighbors is to offer to run their errands. Before grocery shopping for yourself, ask what you can pick up for those high-risk individuals and leave their groceries outside their door.

Donate to Food Banks

Reduced paychecks, fewer hours, or lost jobs means many people are struggling to make ends meet. When you’re doing your own grocery shopping, buy a few extra non-perishable items to drop off at your local community shelter or food bank. Call a local charity to find out their needs and then consider what you can do to meet them.

Support Local Business

As small businesses start to open back up, they need your business more than ever. Show kindness by shopping local. Pick up takeout food or order delivery from local restaurants, don’t cancel your memberships, purchase gift cards from small businesses, support businesses that are continuing to offer services online, and don’t ask for a refund for cancelled services you already paid for.
